Cost & Value Engineer

Salary: Negotiable
Location: Luton

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide expert advice on the development and management of project budgets, including:

    • Procurement strategies

    • Development appraisals

    • Cashflow forecasting

    • Site option appraisals

    • Preparation of tender documentation and bills of quantities

    • Tender analysis and recommendations

  2. Advise on cost management requirements for supplier contracts, including contract types, variations, insurances, collateral warranties, and novation agreements.

  3. Monitor, evaluate, and control project expenditure and cost forecasts to ensure financial compliance and value for money.

  4. Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities by analysing projects, services, and systems to optimise efficiency while maintaining key outputs.

  5. Act as the key Strategy & Development interface with Chief Financial Officer and Finance team, producing regular cost and cashflow reports, including out-turn cost reporting using Sage Intacct.

  6. Support the assessment and valuation of claims.

  7. Assist in the preparation and agreement of final project accounts.

  8. Coach, train, and advise project leads on effective cost and value management practices.

  9. Contribute to project and programme risk management, identifying and mitigating cost-related risks.
