Student Achievement Advisor - Maternity Cover

Salary: Up to £27920.00 per annum
Location: Luton

 

We are looking to recruit a Student Achievement Advisor, This is a fixed term role from February 2026 until November 2026.

Are you passionate about helping students thrive? We're on the lookout for a friendly, proactive, and student-focused Student Achievement Advisor to join our awesome team. The role will be based at our Luton Campus

In this role, you'll be working closely with students-both one-on-one and in small groups-supporting them with:

  • Boosting their GCSE English and Maths skills
  • Navigating exams and assessments
  • Building up their academic, technical, and research skills
  • Mastering study techniques to help them succeed

You'll be part of a supportive team that works with students from all walks of life, including those with learning needs or disabilities. Your job? Help them feel confident, capable, and ready to tackle their courses head-on.

What We're Looking For:

  • You've got at least a Level 3 qualification and GCSE Grade 4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • You're confident helping students improve their GCSE English and Maths skills
  • You're great at motivating and engaging learners across a range of vocational subjects
  • You're a team player who can also work independently and take initiative
  • You've got top-notch communication skills and can connect with students, parents, and carers alike
  • You're organised, resourceful, and always put learners first

You'll also help track student progress, create tailored support plans, and work closely with curriculum teams to make sure every student gets the help they need.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* To work closely with curriculum staff to support students to achieve through 1.1, small group work and in-class support.

* To provide subject specific support in a range of vocational and occupational subject areas, including English and maths.

* To assist Heads of School to devise and implement targeted action plans supporting students to work towards their target grades. Working closely with Student Support and Additional Learning support teams the Student Achievement Advisor will help identify and understand students' specific needs.

* To promote independent learning as well as empowering students to manage their workload. The Student Achievement Advisor will help developing academic competences such as organisation, exam preparation, research techniques and memory skills.

* The Student Achievement Advisor will be able to work as part of a team to ensure that learning resources and interventions are current and relevant to students' programmes of study and to share best practice.

* The Student Achievement Advisor will monitor students' progress against agreed targets using appropriate assessment tools, supporting them to plan and complete assessments ensuring students are prepared for their exams.

* The Student Achievement Advisor will liaise with next of kin to support high levels of student attendance and support students to overcome potential barriers.

* The Student Achievement Advisor will work closely with relevant teaching staff providing them with relevant information, as necessary.
